Choosing a container

List rows, heterogeneous metadata per item, scan by first column (packages, updates, connections).
Grid/cards, visual identity matters more than attributes (app icons, wallpapers).
Table, dense comparable values across many rows; numeric columns align to the end.

Rows are ≥ 44px tall with ≥ 8px separation; truncation follows the text with an ellipsis, never wraps unpredictably in list rows.
Selection: click selects, Ctrl+click toggles, Shift+click ranges. Checkbox columns exist only when bulk actions are real.
Every list has an empty state and a stable sort order the user can see.
Virtualize lists beyond ~200 items; keep scroll position across updates.
Actions on items appear on hover/focus (desktop) or in a context menu , never as six always-visible icon buttons per row.

The Store mock (/mockups/store/) shows cards with primary actions; the Update Manager (/mockups/updater/) shows a checkbox list with a bulk action.
