Tabs
Tabs switch between peer views at the same level. They never nest inside dialogs, and tab labels never change while visible.
Showing the explore tab. Tab panels keep their own scroll position when the user switches back.
Sidebar navigation
Applications with more than ~5 destinations use a sidebar (the Parch Store, Settings, and the portal itself all do):
- Sections are icon + label; the active destination is marked with the accent color and a bolder weight.
- The sidebar scrolls independently of content.
- On narrow widths it collapses into a drawer, the same tree, same order.
Choosing a pattern
| Pattern | Use when |
|---|---|
| Tabs | 2–5 peer views, flat hierarchy |
| Sidebar | Many destinations, or two-level hierarchy |
| Breadcrumbs | Deep, page-like hierarchies (documentation, file managers) |
| Back button | Linear flows (wizards, installers) |
Do
ExploreInstalled
Active tab marked with the accent underline.
Don't
ExploreInstalled
Stacking a filled pill on the underline overloads the accent.
