Unsaved changes & first run
Unsaved changes
- Closing a view with unsaved work prompts: discard / cancel / save. The safe default is cancel.
- The prompt names what will be lost (“Discard changes to profile X?”).
- Document-like apps autosave drafts and say so; settings pages apply immediately so there is nothing to lose.
- Ctrl+W during an edit hits the same prompt as the close button.
First run
The first launch of any Parch app should end with the user doing the main thing within 30 seconds:
- Lead with one guided primary action, not a tutorial carousel.
- Parch Welcome covers system-level onboarding (drivers, updates, docs) , individual apps should not repeat it.
- Sensible defaults mean first run mostly configures nothing.
- If an app needs a system service or permission, it offers to set it up (polkit prompt) rather than failing later.
- Provide the Persian interface from the first frame, not after a settings detour, follow the system locale.
Reference: the Welcome mock for the system-level first-run pattern.
