Parch

Pointer & touch

Pointer

  • Hover reveals secondary affordances (row actions, tooltips), never the only path to a function.
  • Tooltips appear after ~300ms and disappear on interaction; they hold short clarifications, not instructions.
  • Double-click opens in file contexts; single-click selects. In web-style lists (store cards), single click activates.
  • Right-click opens a context menu containing the row's plausible actions, including the destructive ones (with confirmation downstream).
  • Drag and drop: move within collections, copy with Ctrl; drop targets highlight; Esc cancels a drag.

Touch

Parch targets desktop first, but Plasma mobile and touchscreen laptops exist:

  • Hit targets ≥ 44px on touch-active surfaces.
  • Hover-dependent functionality has a tap equivalent (long-press opens the context menu).
  • No hover-only disclosures on primary flows.

Cursor discipline

Use correct cursors: text over text, pointer over links, default elsewhere. Custom cursors are not part of the design language.
